If you know me, then you know that I am not a girly-girl. I may love fashion, but my favorite colors are gray and black, I don’t wear sparkles or sequins and I prefer to look tough than sweet. And the same goes for my choice of nail polish. More often than not, my nails are purple, burgundy, navy, turqoise, or some other moody shade. However, I recently found a pink that passed the test.
Essie’s “Eternal Optimist,” described on Essie’s offical website as a “spiced tea rose with a
dash of cream,” is an opaque, gray-infused pink that offers gals like me a neutral nail option that never reads as overly girly, ballet-inspired or otherwise. And, it even looked good on a slightly longer fingernail since my most recent manicurist refused to cut them down to the little nubs that I requested and prefer.
I picked my bottle up at the local CVS and plan on keeping it on standby for those times when a bold color won’t do, but a manicure is a must.
