I’m going to be honest, when I first saw these shoes, I thought they were the dumbest thing, ever. I thought that until the day I got caught in a thunderstorm in Copley Square in shoes that would get ruined from the rain. I ventured into the Copley Mall and headed to J.Crew. I had seen the rainy day bow ballet flats prior to that visit and had thought, “who would pay $58 for these things?” However, on that day, there were several colors on sale for $24.99, so I thought “why not?” and bought myself a pair of army green ones. It only took me one wear to fall in love with these. I can honestly say that they are one of the most functional pairs of shoes that I own and here’s why. First of all, they are comfortable. Secondly, whenever it’s supposed to rain, I just throw these guys in my bag. It’s great because they fit in practically any bag, and they weigh close to nothing. It’s much better than carrying around rain boots to change in and out of. Thirdly, and most importantly, they’re actually pretty cute. In fact, I was so impressed with them, after a few weeks, I went out and got myself a second pair in a gray color. The rainy day flat is by no means going to replace your normal rain boots, but for the spring, summer and early fall, they are wonderful for those unpredictable rainy days in Boston.
