Now I am definitely what most would call a girly girl when it comes to dressing, mainly because I am constantly found in a dress or skirt, however what I continue to tell everyone about my style is that I am not being girly at all, just practical. I love dresses and skirts because I can look cute, but feel like I am at home in my comfy pjs. It really is a win, win for me–look great, feel great. While the thought of wearing pants makes me shudder, this summer I was hoping to find a more practical look and was getting sick of my favorite cotton dresses and skirts. However, I refused to feel like I was stuck in uncomfortable and tight clothes all summer (humidity and my sometimes sweaty self just do not mix with restrictive clothes, especially in the summer months). In came my summer hero, a semi-high waisted short. I got three pairs for summer, one white cotton, one beige linen (with cute pleats on top), and one silk army green and I have lived in them all summer. Especially with August here, everyone needs a go to look that will keep you cool but looking great. Cotton/linen options are great during the day and can transition to night time by throwing on a pair of wedges. My silk ones are beautiful with a pair of flip flops and fitted cotton tank during the day and look fab going out at night with heels. The main thing I have found to make them most flattering is to wear a fitted top tucked into them. That way they give you a tiny waist and there isn’t too much bulk on top. They are truly my love of the summer and will transition well into the first few months of fall (especially my green and beige colored ones!) with a fitted shirt and long cardigan, or collared silk shirt. I am so happy I found them and hope you enjoy them too! Here are a few options I found out there to get you started: I found these at forever 21 for only $15.80 and they have about 100 other pairs I also loved: Forever 21 Shorts Or these two options I found at Saks……. Acne shorts on sale for $79.99. And the most beautiful splurge! 3.1 Phillip Lim: $395
