less is more…and then more is more

I found myself wearing a lot of makeup this winter. It sort of happened by accident – I had an eyeshadow pairing that I really liked, my girlfriend taught me how to wear eyeliner and my pale skin inspired me to be a little heavy-handed with the bronzer.

It wasn’t a problem really, until I realized that on a lazy Sunday when I had taken a shower, thrown on some sweats and simply moisturized my face, I felt a litte naked running to CVS or Trader Joe’s. That was when I decided to switch gears.

Instead of the heavy makeup, I have been wearing/doing only the following for the past 3-4 months:
-tinted moisturizer
-penciling in my brows
-undereye concealer
-bronzer (without such a heavy-hand)
-mascara

Done and done.

And this is what I have discovered: less truly is more. I am still highlighting my features and taking interest in my appearance, but my makeup looks more natural and I am far more
confident on those lazy Sundays when I don’t have a stitch of makeup on.

And – as an added bonus – when I do get dressed up and add a few more layers to my makeup routine, the difference is more tangible and thus, more dramatic. And thus, less is more…and then more is more.

Looking to change up your makeup routine?? Summer is the best time to do it!! A little natural sun-kissed glow paired with the easy-breezy styles of the season allow for experimentation
as well as the confidence to go au natural…
