I am usually a proponent of dressing for the weather and caring for your garments and accessories properly. However, the recent weather pattern of snow/sleet/rain/slush every other day has driven me to hate my snow and rain boots. Wearing the same thing every day can really get a fashionista down…
In place of my snow/rain boots, I have taken to wearing my motorcycle boots. Not only are they sturdy in the snow with great traction, but the salt and water stains are adding to their character. After all, motorcycle boots are meant to be tough and weathered – covered in the markings of the open road.
Well, I’m not riding anywhere on the back of a hog, but I am schlepping to work and to the gym and back, trudging through snow, hopping T tracks and shoveling out the company car in a back alley off of Newbury St.
And, since donning my motorcycle boots, I am doing it while maintaining my style.
Don’t have motorcycle boots of your own?? Frye Harness boots or cowboy boots – two other styles of boot that love some good, old-fashioned wear-and-tear – will also do the trick.
Stay safe out there and battle the winter weather in style.
