Describe your styling philosophy.
The goal of every stylist should be to provide their client with a wardrobe full of clothes that provides easy coordination of most of the pieces within it. The client should really, truly love every piece and all of the items should be functional, comfortable, good quality, long-lasting garments and accessories. Additionally, a stylist should be able to help their clients determine who they really are and what they are naturally drawn to because that is the vital piece that most people are missing.
Describe your style. How does it inform your work as a stylist?
My style is very European-inspired and very feminine. I love dresses and skirts and clothes that fit close to the body. But, I do need to feel comfortable – which is a need that has grown over the last few years since I became a Mom. I used to wear high-heels every day, but I have since stopped that. Now I try to be comfortable, functional and stylish. And I am a bit of a minimalist in the sense that I don’t want to own too much or have too many “extras” what putting an outfit together.
Who is your favorite designer or what is your favorite label?
My favorite designer always changes and I am not as into high-end designer labels as one might think. But right now I am very into Narciso Rodriguez and I always love Prada. Diane von
Furstenberg and Elie Tahari are my go-to for work staples. And Paige and AG tend to be my favorite denim brands.
What is your favorite type of clothing?
Jewelry! My mom taught me to love jewelry at a very young age. Also, I love shoes. I would rather spend a lot of money on shoes than on anything else.
Describe your favorite outfit.
This is also something that is always changing, but at the moment I am really into this vintage outfit that I recently purchased. The outfit is an ivory lace 2-piece set lined in beige. It consists of an A-line skirt and a high-neck shell that buttons up the back – very ’60′s. I paired it with a distressed leather belt that sits on the hips. When I was putting the outfit together I decided to leave the bottom two buttons of the top open which left the small of my back exposed. I thought that it was an artful and tasteful way to expose some skin as a mother and wife.
Describe your dream outfit.
It would definitely consist of some very high-end designer pieces!
A close-fitting pencil skirt.
A beautiful pair of pumps – preferably Christian Louboutin.
A silk blouse or shell.
And amazing jewelry! I would probably wear layered necklaces or a statement necklace, long earrings, a cuff or a set of bangles.
