It's easy being green!
07.26.10

As you may know, being “green” is totally on trend right now. Many clothing brands have launched sustainable clothing lines made from organic materials. But, the Stilista team knows that not everyone is up for a change. Some people don’t know how to look for or where to buy eco-friendly clothing. However, we encourage more people to welcome this trend when selecting their clothing because it’s better for the environment. For those of you who want to follow the trend but don’t know where to start, here are some easy tips from the Stilista team:
1) Read the tag: It’s not enough just to look at the tag for the size anymore! Check out the tag in order to find out what the item is made of as well. Just a couple of extra seconds won’t waste too much of your shopping time and it will also help save our planet!
2) Reduce: It’s hard to buy only organic clothing when not every store carries it. But, after you start to recognize which materials are eco-friendly, try to buy less of what is not.
3) Recycle: We know everyone is used to the concept of recycling. Well, it also works with clothes! Take a look at your old clothes and see which ones you can transform into new ones. Turn your denim jeans into shorts, cut sleeves off of an old top, replace the buttons on an old coat that needs a face-lift, or use your dad’s tie as your new headband.
We hope these tips are a good start for being “green.” Still unsure how to proceed? Contact Stilista for more information and guidance. We even have a package called "go green!" which is tailor-made for the budding green fashionista!
