When it first debuted, I was underwhelmed by the Splendid t-shirt brand. Yes, the special blend of pima cotton and modal was super-soft, but their styles were boring at best. I could easily head to Target and pick up similar t-shirts or tank tops for a 1/4 of the price.
However, over the last few years, the brand has grown to include much more than simple tees and tanks and has greatly matured in terms of styling. Now, I can’t seem to buy enough of the stuff!
I am still not a huge fan of their dresses since they are almost exclusively casual or day dresses – (I like my dresses to work double duty – as both day and night attire…) – but their tees, tops, tanks, sweaters, sweatshirts and lounge pants are to die for.
They make some of the best deep v-neck and “boyfriend” tee-shirts and I have a distressed hoodie that looks so authentic that people have actually asked in amazement, “How long have
you owned that?”
The prices are still a little steep, but if you take the time to search the internet for sales, you can easily find some great Splendid pieces at affordable prices. I would suggest hitting up
ShopBop and Bloomingdales.
