I came across the Stylelikeu blog thanks to The Uniform Project blog (seriously, beginning to read online fashion blogs is like Alice falling down the rabbit hole!).  Stylelikeu interviews and videotapes "style musings of the 21st Century".  So far the founders, Elisa and Lily, have highlighted over 100 different style mavens from New York to LA.  Some people are eccentric artists, like Don Pedro & Kristen, some people are activists, like Sheena and Eliza from the Uniform Project. some people are socialites, like Barbara Louis; and some people are just plain controversial, like BJ Panda Bear.

There are so many sites out there about individual fashion but what immediately drew me in to Stylelikeu was how real the people and their closets are.  There are no over-sensationalized and staged photo-ops, just normal people living in normal NYC apartments (i.e- old couches, mattresses without headboards and flea market wall decor).  In addition, their clothes and closets are real- sometimes the shoes are scuffed (because you know, they actually wear them to and from work and the clubs, and don't just wear them in front of a green screen on a Vogue photo shoot) and usually they have to dig through a pile on their floor to find their favorite shirt (because no one in New York has enough closet space)!

All in all, Stylelikeu is now on my bookmarks blog-list for a fantastic cross section of individual style grounded in real world settings, real world budgets and real world eccentricity.
