Head Cold!
01.02.10

On a recent trip to Manhattan, I was completely unprepared for the cold weather. I thought I was prepared: long quilted coat (check), cute, sorta warm boots (check), fingerless gloves- for easy access to credit cards during check out (check), fashionabley, strategically tied scarf (check). What was wrong with this picture? As I scratched my perfectly styled hair, it hit me! My heads cold. I immidiately went into stylist mode and thought of my options. Ear muffs? No! they would hurt as they pressed against my hoop earrings. Arrange my scarf in some kind of stylish muffler? No! I may mess up my lipgloss and get it on my scarf. What is a girl to do? I looked around for inspiration and saw a plethora of women in different modes of head coverings. Like a light shining from Boston Light :) everything became clear!! I will wear a hat! I will put fashion aside and brave hat head for some warmth. I bought a black, knit cap from a street vendor and after borrowing his mirror I made it look like I just threw it on without a thought, instead of the painful process I just put myself through!!
As the day wore on I felt more comfortable wearing my hat and couldn't help notice all the amazing looking women in their hats and secretly hoped I looked so effortless!!!!!
