Boston Fashion Week Blog 2009: Remix, the stylist closet
09.30.09
Event #6: 9/28 8-11pm, Remix: The Stylist Closet, Hotel 140, South End

For an event that started out hot, crowded and sweaty, the Remix show happily turned out to be one of the most fashionable in Boston! Set in the Hotel 140 YWCA building, the event was part fundraiser for Dress for Success, part shopping and part fashion show. Terry Mahn and Mia Boldsen from the Stock-Keeper (an extraordinary warehouse full of vintage and era-inspired clothing) teamed to up to pull off over 30 different vintage looks. All the pieces were expertly styled to give them a modern edge- ideal for showing off the high/low vintage/modern trends for Fall 2009. Lots of fur stoles, leather jackets, vest, belts and layers! I especially loved her selection of shoes, some were actual vintage, but most were vintage-inspired.
After the show, all the pieces were on sale as well as other selections from the Stock-Keeper's warehouse. Ah, how difficult it was to control my shoppers urge! I tried to rush out before I bought anything, only to discover that there was a sudden downpour. So, I was forced to stay inside and add to my collection of ever-growing vintage coats...

Hope to see more vintage fashion shows in the future!
