Event #3: 9/25 8pm Boston Fashion Anniversary, W Hotel South End
Wow! This event hosted by Fashion Boston was bumpin’, and I mean literally! We arrived fashionably 20 minutes late (I wore my khaki mini dress with scalloped trim and chartreuse lining) and were forced to wait outside because they had reached max capacity! But, no worries, while waiting we were served bubbly and chocolate truffles by men wearing nothing but silk pajama bottoms- oh la la…
Once inside, we discovered a hotbed of fashion activity. Each room hosted a specific style theme (like Fashion and Music, Fashion and Diamonds, Fashion and Aphrodisiacs– oyster bar). I loved the creativity put into all the details, it really brought sophistication and class to BFW. The mood was set to schmooze and style-watch, judge and be judged. We ran into all the local celebs like Rachel Baker, Sam Mendoza, and Jennifer Dziubeck from LunaBoston.
Some great outfits were seen throughout the night, I’ve gotta give the men props on this one- Boston men do great with accessories. I saw 2 fabulous guys wearing this season’s tone-on-tone plaid jackets from H&M and styling them to look like a million bucks! The ladies were lovely, many wore dark cocktail dresses paired with black tights and black ankle boots. I also saw quite a few sequin dresses and gladiator heels. The only downside- no coat check! The cold weather snuck up on us and nothing ruins an outfit faster than a heavy fall coat (I solved the problem by stashing mine behind the fish tank!).
All in all, it was an inspiring night chock full of the Boston fashion elite buzzing and anxious to start BFW 09 off right! Make sure to check out Stilista’s two event coming up this week!
