Hooray for jacket weather!

I love the fall because it means it's time to start wearing jackets again.  And these are two of my favorite looks.  This baggier, cropped trench from Banana Republic looks great over jeans with a loose scarf tied around her neck.  It's a little bit more of a modern take on the trench that we saw this spring. 

One of my stand-by's for years has been a jean jacket.  I used to have an oversize Guess? jean jacket when I was in high school.  I thought it was the coolest thing ever!  But about 5 or 6 years ago, I got a fitted jean jacket from Gap.  I wear it all the time.  This one is from J Crew, and I think it looks just perfect over this dressier outfit with the sleeves pushed up.  If you're going to wear your's with jeans, just make sure the washes are different.  For example, a faded blue denim over dark or white denim, or a black denim jacket over faded blue jeans.  That way you won't look like your wearing a jean suit.
