My Impulse Purchase
08.09.09

I spent this past week in Chicago for my other job. During the only afternoon that wasn't spent working, my co-worker and I explored the Lincoln Park neighborhood of the city. Of course, being the fashion-obsessed women that we are, we ended up stopping at a few stores. In Aldo, I made a rare impluse purchase.
While my co-worker browsed the "buy one, get one free" sunglass selection, I stumbled across a pair of leggings made to look like denim. They are a deep dark blue, are woven to resemble the texture of denim and feature gold stitching up the sides of the legs and around the ankle.
As soon as I saw them I thought that they were genius. I love my skinny jeans because they make my short legs look longer when I am wearing flats. I love my leggings because they are comfy, warm and fashion-forward. The fact that two of my favorite things had been combined into one made me immeasurably happy. I snatched them up without a second thought.
Upon trying them on back at the hotel room, I was pleased to find that they fit like a glove. They are a bit too long, but the bunching at the ankle gives them yet another denim-like quality.
Although I am in no hurry for summer to be over, I will be excited when that first cool Fall day rolls around when I can wear my new denim leggings. I have a feeling that this impulse purchase was a good one...
