Male In-VEST-ment

Men often shy away from adding vests to their wardrobe because the seem “complicated” and “unpredictable”, but in reality they can expand your wardrobe potential and make a statement at a low price. Vests are best worn when layered over multiple pieces so it is important to consider the other clothes in your closet to coordinate your vest with:

3 MUST HAVE TIPS

1. Layering is the key with vests. Keep the palette neutral, tone on tone, or in the same family. For example, pairing 3 different shades of blue or black looks really modern when layering vests.

2. Make sure the vest can button properly- no pulling or bunching!

3. Vests are a great seasonal transition piece: you can make it work in any weather depending on what you pair it with. Layer with wools and sweaters in the winter and thin tees and cardigans in the summer.

Sporty: Layer it over a tweed blazer like in the photo for a polished/sporty look!sporty men's vests.jpg

Deconstructed: meaning they have less seaming or unusual cutlines, often with no buttons or tailoring.

Polished: Try adding a vest to your everyday suit for a 3-piece set. professional mens vests.jpg

Scholarly: This look takes a bit more planning to pull off, but is worth the effort. scholarly mens vests.jpg
