So, last summer I went crazy at this jean sample sale and along with some excellent fitting JBrand jeans, I ended up with some preppy crisp salmon pink straight leg jeans. “These will look great on a summer night- add some pop to my wardrobe!”. Well, one year later and I have only worn them twice- once to the beach with a white tee, and today- a gloomy June day while working from home.
(FYI: my jeans aren’t this tight, I totally agree with Jessica’s previous post on avoiding too tight skinny jeans)
In lieu of throwing them into my “toss” pile, I decided to challenge myself to come up with some outfits that I can make with them this summer. I don’t think brightly colored jeans work for everybody- certainly not for an office environment. Lately I have been learning towards a more neutral and natural look, so I tried mixing the bright jeans with soft, ethnic pieces to tone them down. I’m imagining wearing these outfits out with my friends at night, running weekend errands, or similar casual events to save them from “back of the closet leftovers!”

Outfit #1: Simple floaty top with nude shoes and vibrant ethnic bag. I love the silver metal butterfly necklace and chain “rock n roll” bracelet to toughen up the look because pink pants can be quite girly.
Outfit #2: I love this one. I love pairing all sorts of different stripes. Here I found a striped tank, a striped cotton scarf and a pinstriped pair of suspenders. This look works for me because I like pairing funky vintage accessories, but for a more toned down look, skip the suspenders.
Outfit#3: I love this blue ethnic silky tank with embellishment. It will contrast nicely with the salmon pink and I grounded it with natural rough-hewn gemstone jewelry and a neutral grey shoe.

PS- I also have the same jean in a mustard yellow too- I know, I know, but I just couldn’t pass up the price! I think these outfits would work with those pants too!
