What's Your Uniform?

Have you guys heard of Gwyneth Paltrow’s new website called GOOP? Its purpose is so “nourish the inner aspect” as determined by Gwyneth. She has sections on Make (cooking), Go (traveling), Get (shopping), Do (kids and activities), Be (spiritual healing), and See (sightseeing). I have to admit that I wasn’t expecting much because I hate the concept of “celebrity” determining what is worth writing about.

I was still very curious however to see what she had to say about “Get”- after all, I have always admired her sense of simplistic and classic style since I picked up my first Marie Claire when I was in Jr. High School with her on the cover. Indeed, she does write about some interesting tidbits; most intriguing is her article on her “uniform”. She describes the classic pieces (grey tanks, black leggings, a simple sweater dress, black boots or booties and a peacoat) that she relies on daily to pull off her classic look that can take her from running errands with the kids, to meetings, to dinner parties. They all looked great and were very versatile, especially when she spiced them up with accessories. It inspired me to put together some of my “uniform” pieces below:

Start with Black leggings or black jeans and a classic white tee

Add a dress- I like simple black textured or printed

Or add a floaty neutral tee

Top it with a tuxedo jacket (I got my fave from a vintage store!)

Then add accessories (I never go anywhere without a scarf)
