These days everyone is trying to be a multi-industry mogul. Leveraging your fifteen minutes of fame into a career has become a modern-age phenomenon. From reality show star to handbag designer; from country singer to perfume creator, from hip hop mogul to hotel consultant…everyone is trying to sell their “image”. Some have been successful (hello JLo and Martha Stewart!), others, not so much (are we really going to buy Lindsay Lohan’s new spray tan line?)
One success that I am obsessed with is Gwen Stefani’s (No Doubt front woman) foray into the fashion industry. She has created two successful lines: Harajuku Lovers, which is more kid and bubble gum pop friendly and L.A.M.B.- which is the perfect blend of modern but wearable rock n’roll cool. I especially love the L.A.M.B. shoe collections. This season I hope to get these beautiful sandals. I am envisioning a weekend outfit of jeans, plaid top and a boho braid in my hair! You could also dress them up at work by pairing them with a classic shift dress and layers of gold bangles and chunky jewelry.
