about

LOCATED IN BOSTon, MA STILISTA|BOSTON IS A full-service styling firm, providing its clients with guidance in all facets of fashion and personal style. Stilista|Boston serves the city of boston, the surrounding cities and suburbs and the greater new england area.

Founded by two women entrepreneurs and best friends in 2007, Stilista|Boston has been helping the greater Boston area look its best for over a decade. With the same practical approach and time-tested process, Stilista|Boston stylists have outfitted everyone from budding teenage fashionistas on a budget to recent college grads entering the workforce to stay-at-home parents to high-profile executives with business formal dress-codes and brimming social calendars.

Originally conceived as an agency, the team has consisted of a number of talented style mavens over the years, but the one constant was always Marisa Meloski. Hired during the agency’s first group interview in 2008, Marisa hit the ground running by putting her retail know-how and fashion instincts to work, quickly gaining a devoted following. As her expertise grew, she on-boarded and trained other members of the team, honing both her skills and theirs and fine-tuning the Stilista|Boston process. Due to her high retention rate and a constant string of referrals, Marisa soon carried the bulk of the client base even while pursuing parallel styling and retail careers. When the final remaining founder decided it was time to move on in 2018, it was only natural that the torch be passed to Marisa.

Marisa Meloski is proud to bring smart, common sense style to the Boston community. She believes that cultivating a personal style is important not only to how you present yourself to the world, but also to your self worth. She believes that fashion should be accessible to all no matter your budget, size, gender or lifestyle and that getting dressed should be both stress-free and confidence-building.

Marisa has enjoyed a wide-ranging career in the Boston fashion scene, exploring all facets of the consumer experience and the retail landscape. She built a strong foundation in retail management while working for now-shuttered, national designer consignment chain Second Time Around as a store manager, a district manager, a buyer and the assistant general manager of new-store openings.

She spent time as a freelance fashion writer, generating content for numerous online retailers, fashion blogs, email marketing campaigns and social media platforms. She worked as a visual merchandiser, specializing in new store openings, floor sets and window displays for clients such as Madewell, J Crew, The North Face, Puma and Vans. She has styled fashion shows and music videos for local retailers and recording artists and continues to work as a freelance stylist for photo shoots with local photographers and global brands headquartered in the Boston area.

But, personal styling has always been her true love. Marisa has over fifteen year’s of experience under her belt and a wealth of product, trend and fit knowledge that she is excited to share with you. Her vast experience with clients of all genders, ages, budgets, lifestyles and body types has given her the ability to quickly and efficiently evaluate your needs and to generate and execute a style action plan, ensuring you the apparel, accessories and footwear that are the best fit for both your body type and lifestyle.

In her role as owner, Marisa is working tirelessly to streamline the firm’s processes, to update and add to its services menu, to respond to feedback from clients and to expand its reach. But, working one-on-one with clients will always bring her the most joy and satisfaction. Marisa is looking forward to meeting you, to collaborating on your new look and to building a personal brand and image that has you feeling and looking your best!

“I worked with Marisa from Stilista to revamp my wardrobe last fall, and can’t recommend her highly enough. It had been years since the last time I’d bought any significant amount of clothing, and my closet just hadn’t quite kept up with the changes in my style and my life; much of my clothing was either holdovers from undergrad (and I’m now in my late twenties) or from when I bought work clothes for my first job after college (and I’m now a grad student, so I want to look nice, but I don’t need to be super dressed up).

From the first point of contact to set up an appointment, all the way to after our shopping trip, working with Marisa was a pleasure. She was prompt and professional, and also warm and helpful. When she came over to do my wardrobe audit, I immediately noticed (and liked) her style, and I knew I was in good hands.

I really appreciated that she took the time to get to know me and my style during the initial evaluation. Then, over the course of our three-hour wardrobe audit, she helped me get rid of a lot of old clothes I just wasn’t in love with anymore, and helped me reimagine how to wear some pieces that had been hiding in the back of my closet.

I usually really don’t enjoy shopping, so I was a little apprehensive about a marathon three-hour shopping trip, but shopping with Marisa was smooth sailing. Marisa went ahead to pull items for me, so when I arrived there was a dressing room full of clothes that I was excited to try on. She was understanding of the fact that I’m on a grad student budget, and she was attentive to looking out for good deals, while also guiding me on what pieces were worth spending a little more on.

It’s been a few months since our shopping trip, and getting dressed has gone from being a chore to being a breeze. I consistently feel stylish and age-appropriate, and I love my new clothes. I’m thinking about hiring Marisa again (this time, to rebuild my spring/summer wardrobe), and I enthusiastically recommend her services to anyone who wants to overhaul their closet.”
